Salam aleikoum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

Strangely, it appeared in the last 30 years or so, that muslims have become extremist in matter of madhabs in such a matter that someone who is Hanafi madhab will not pray or despise someone else from shafii or hanbali etc...
All this because the muslims have become ignorant and they think madhab=identity (not anymore a school of Jurisprudence).
Those 4 Imams (rahimuhum Allah) did all their effort to ease for us the comprehension of ahadiths in the domain of Fiqh. Unfortunatly this is not anymore the case were you see people who do not even pray or know how to pray well or take ablution but definitely scream for the name of their madhabs like Hooligans.
So where do you stand brothers and sister in Islam?.
Are followers of the Messenger of Allah (sallahu aleihi wa salam) or are you just caught in this dangerous wave?

I am Hanafi and would be equally ease at praying behind shaa'fi, hambali, or maliki. Ahle sunnat wal Jamaat unanimously recognise these four schools of thought. The diffrences that we find between these four imams is controversial and matter of arguments, only for those as you said; for the ignorant ones and I must add to it the scholarly pursuits for the so called Ghair Muqallideens.

why people insist on sticking with one school of thought is to emphasise the fact to a common man that he must adhere to the laid down rules in any one out of these four schools of thought, and not to his own personal desires and prefrences.

We from the schools of thoughts dont despise each other. We respect and recognise each other.
